چکیده

Abstract This work presented the studies with natural zeolite—clinoptilolite as catalyst for isomerization of geraniol. During research, it turned out that studied process is much more complicated, and not only takes place in it, but also dehydration, oxidation, dimerization, cyclization fragmentation carbon chain. Geraniol an organic raw material which can be obtained by a chemical synthesis from plants (renewable biomass) distillation or extraction method, example source geraniol plant—geranium. Before catalytic tests clinoptilolite was characterized instrumental methods, such as: XRD, porosity studies—nitrogen adsorption at 77 K, SEM, EDXRF, FT-IR. Gas chromatography analyses showed main products were 6,11-dimethyl-2,6,10-dodecatrien-1-ol thumbergol. The selectivity thumbergol depended on temperature, content reaction time. These parameters changed following ranges: 80–150 °C (temperature), 5–15 wt% (catalyst content) 15–1440 min. (reaction time). most favorable conditions obtaining were: temperature 140 ºC, 12.5 time 180 At these conditions, conversion amounted to 98 mol%, selectivities 14 47 respectively.

Transesterification of Waste Cooking Oil for Biodiesel Production Using Modified Clinoptilolite Zeolite as a Heterogeneous Catalyst

Reduction of fossil fuels sources, increasing of pollution gases emission, and global warming effects increase the demand of renewable fuels. One of the main candidates of alternative fuels is biodiesel. Biodiesel limits greenhouse gas effects due to the closed CO2 cycle. Biodiesel has more biodegradability, lower combustion emissions such as CO, SOx, HC, PM and lower toxicity than petro diesel...

Adsorption of Enrofloxacine on Natural Zeolite - Clinoptilolite

The potential use of Croatian natural zeolite clinoptilolite as alternative adsorbents for removal of enrofloxacin (ENRO) as model pollutant was studied in a batch system. The influence of contact time and initial ENRO concentration on the sorption process was investigated. The percentage removal of ENRO from aqueous phase decreased with an increase in initial concentration. The experimental da...

Evaluation of natural zeolite clinoptilolite efficiency for the removal of ammonium and nitrate from aquatic solutions

Background: Surface water and groundwater pollution with various forms of nitrogen such as ammonium and nitrate ions is one of the main environmental risks. The major objectives of this study were to evaluate the capacity of natural zeolite (clinoptilolite) to remove NO3- and NH4+ from polluted water under both batch and column conditions. Methods: The laboratory batch and column experiments we...
